Cross Country runner Cassie Vince was named the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Athlete of the Week for Nov. 5.
A senior from Amherst, Ohio, Vince achieved her place in Albion women's cross country history on Oct. 27.
She became the first Albion woman to finish as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Most Valuable Runner after being the first runner to cross the finish line in the MIAA Cross Country Championship contested at the Eastern Hills Golf Club.
She completed the 6K course in 21:29.7, nearly 48 seconds ahead of runner-up Emily Hamilton representing Hope College.
Prior to the meet, Sarah Hall set the highest finish by an Albion woman in the MIAA Championship. Hall finished second in the 1983 meet.
First-year swimmer Samantha Swingewood and equestrian rider Alex Carducci were also nominated.
