Britons split Saturday doubleheader

FRANKLIN, Ind. – First-year outfielder Sean Haddlesey hit .556 (5-for-9) with a double and four runs batted in as Albion College split a Saturday doubleheader against 23rd-ranked Franklin College.

Game 1: Franklin 7, Albion 6

Sam Claycamp slugged a two-run double in the eighth to lift Franklin to the come from behind victory.

Albion scored four times in the fifth to take a 5-2 lead. Jordyn Finney hit a RBI double, Andrew Arszulowicz added a RBI single and Kellan Huang lifted a sacrifice fly.

Franklin rallied to forge a 5-5 tie in the sixth.

Haddlesey put Albion in front, 6-5, in the eighth with a two-out double that scored Drew Olszewski. Haddlesey advanced to third base on a wild pitch, but he was left on base.

Game 2: Albion 12, Franklin 2

Riley Stesiak and Dylan Perry hit two-run homeruns and Huang pitched five innings of two-hit ball to power Albion to the victory.

Haddlesey and Stesiak both went 3-for-5 with three RBI

Huang allowed a run on two hits and three walks with six strikeouts.

Reliever Tristan Ellis did not allow an earned run in his three innings on the mound. He yielded an unearned run on two hits and a walk.

On Deck

Albion will complete its drive to central Florida on Sunday. The Britons are scheduled to play five games in the warm climate, starting with a Monday morning date with Grove City College.
