Hunt Seat Team Takes Early Lead In Regional Standings

The Albion College equestrian hunt seat team holds the early lead in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association's regional standings after finishing as the high point team in its home show at the Nancy G. Held Equestrian Center on Oct. 6.

Co-captain Heather Waldron won her intermediate over fences class, which qualifies her for the IHSA Regional Championships and pointed her up into the open over fences division.

Senior Brittney Stanton and sophomore rider Claire Tillman were awarded first place in open and novice, respectively, on the flat and over fences. Also off to a great start is first-year rider Emily Galka, who won her beginner walk-trot-canter class.

Coach Randi Gardner was thrilled to start the season on such a high note, and she also mentioned how proud she was that her team was able to organize and manage a home show so early in the year.
