Stanton, Galka Qualify for IHSA Zones

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Although the Albion team had already clinched the high point team spot for the region, the Britons sent riders to Willowbrooke Farm to contend for individual spots in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association's Zone championships.

An excited first-year rider, Emily Galka, won regional champion at advanced walk/trot/canter. And senior Brittney Stanton won reserve champion in open over fences. Both Galka and Stanton will join the Albion team in the IHSA Zone Championships, scheduled for April 5 at Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. This will be Stanton's third time competing at Zones.

Miranda Voege and Claire Tillman both scored third place finishes in their divisions and Paige Beliveau earned fourth place in novice flat to finish just out of the reach of Zones.
