The hunt seat team proves that even after the winter break from competing (and for many from riding), they can handle a double-header with no problem. On January 18 and 19, they traveled to Plymouth, Mich., where the University of Michigan hosted a show at Willowbrooke Farm. Out of 14 teams, Albion came away with a reserve high point team placing on Saturday and a fourth place on Sunday, maintaining their team lead in the region standings.
On the first day, many Albion riders won first place in their classes, which gained some serious points. Among them, co-captains Heather Waldron and Miranda Voege, Paige Beliveau, and Emily Galka all took away blue ribbons. Important second place finishers included Brittney Stanton (in both open flat and fences), Claire Tillman, Meredith Michalec, and Andrea Gatlin.
The second day of competition was fierce, and the Briton riders brought home more ribbons again. First place winners included Waldron and Beliveau again, and also Jackson Regen, Sienna Mendina, and Ann Armstrong. Second place riders were Tillman, Gatlin and Stanton.
