BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Justin Kapke, Soti Michalos and Justin Leeds all produced rounds in the 70s Saturday as the Albion College men's golf team finished 12th in the Lou Collins Memorial Tournament at the Bedford Valley Country Club.
Albion's 637 total for the tournament was a stroke behind Lourdes University and Ancilla College which tied for 10th and two strokes behind Siena Heights University for ninth place.
Kapke, a first-year golfer from Canton, Mich., shot a second round 76 to shave five strokes off his first round score. His 157 total put him in a tie for 37th in the individual standings.
Jake Hinkle produced Albion's low round Friday, turning in a scorecard of 80.
Playing as an individual (and not counting for the team score), Jim Chapman turned in Albion's best round on Saturday with a 75.
Albion's next event is the Irish Hills Invitational at The Grande in Jackson on Sept. 15-16.
