Track & field athletes compete at Calvin

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Jephte Jean-Claude edged teammate Richard Annorat to win the 60-meter hurdles, joined Annorat on the winning 4x200 relay and finished second in the long jump in a dual meet at Calvin College.

The Knights defeated Albion College, 63-38.

Jean-Claude and Annorat were separated by six hundredths of a second in the hurdles, with Jean-Claude setting a time of 8.70 seconds. They were joined by Rayshawn Robinson and Roscell Hines for a time of 1:39.54 in the relay.

Jean-Claude sailed 20' 4 ½" in the long jump.

Albion also scored first place on the track in the 300 meters. Trevor Knowles reached the finish line in 38.43.

Albion took first place in the throwing events with Kejuan Frazier setting a mark of 45' 4 ¼" in the shot put and Andrew Strzelecki achieving 50' 3" in the weight throw.

The distance runners will represent Albion in the Bob Eubanks Open at Grand Valley State University on Jan. 12. The Britons have a Jan. 27 meet at Defiance College in Ohio.
