HOLLAND, Mich. – Camila Manrique, Katie Ferrero and Alexandra Horman all achieved lifetime best swims as Albion College finished fourth in the 800-yard freestyle relay on the opening night of competition in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Swimming & Diving Championship at the Holland Aquatic Center.
Albion completed the race in 7:52.15. Manrique finished her split in 1:57.28, followed by Mary Noble's season-best time of 1:59.35. Swimming third, Ferrero touched the wall in 1:58.04, and Horman's time was 1:57.48.
Another lifetime best was set in a time trial of the 100 backstroke when she set a time of 1:02.09.
The Thursday schedule includes the 200 freestyle and 400 medley relay events as well as individual swims in the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, and 50 free. Diving will feature the men's 1-meter and women's 3-meter competitions.
