FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- For the second time this season,
Meghan Trewhella of the Albion College women's basketball team, claimed Athlete of the Week honors from the MIchigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA).
Trewhella, who earned the award for the first time in her career on November 17, led the Britons to a 2-0 week as they opened MIAA play. She becomes the first Briton to earn the weekly honor multiple times in on season since Daniah Beavers won three times during the 2022-23 season.
The junior, averaged 20.5 points per game to go along with five steals, eight rebounds, and two assists in 63 total minutes of action. Trewhella was Albion's leading scorer in both tilts, as she supplied 18 points against Kalamazoo and netted 23 versus Olivet. On the season, Trewhella paces the MIAA in both points per game (23.1) and field goal percentage (57.0%). The Houghton, Michigan, native has scored in double figures in all seven contests this season and poured in 20 or more points in four games.Â
Trewhella and the Britons return to action on Friday, December 12, when they continue MIAA action on the road against Calvin University at 6 pm.Â
