BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. – Albion College experienced some anxious moments as it surrendered three extra-man goals in the second quarter, but it never surrendered the lead.
David DiRado scored two goals 1:05 apart early in the fourth quarter as Albion pulled away for a 14-8 victory over Augustana College at Detroit Country Day School.
Albion led 5-1 on Collin Bowers goal with six minutes left in the second.
Augustana took advantage of a three-minute un releasable slashing penalty as Trever Moore scored twice and Nick Gallo added a goal to make the score 5-4 at halftime.
Albion boosted the lead to 8-4 on goals by Scott Shepard, Palmer and Lebioda.
Albion returns to Detroit Country Day next Sunday for a non-league game against the College of Wooster.
