ALBION, Mich. – The Albion College men's tennis team will own a two-match winning streak when it starts Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association action in a week and a half after dispatching Grace Christian University, 9-0, on the Dow Center outdoor courts on Tuesday.
Albion is 5-4 going into its March 29 date at Calvin College.
Albion made quick work of Grace Christian, winning the match in less than two hours. Josh McGarry, Nick Kinachtchouk, Israel Trevino and Patrick Smoker were all 6-0, 6-0 winners in singles. Robert Joerg and Toma Shngoo lost one game in their singles matches.
Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
The College is continuing to raise funds in support of both projects. To learn more, call 517/629-0446 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
