Mitchell Klingler, a graduate of Albion College majoring in exercise science, was named the men’s and women’s assistant cross country coach in the fall of 2014.
A 2014 Albion graduate, Klingler earned four varsity letters in cross country and four in track and field. Klingler ended his career strong when qualifying for the NCAA Division III National Championships in the 5,000 meter race. In track, Klingler also earned two Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association individual titles (10,000 meter and 5,000 meter). Klingler currently holds the school records at the 3,000 meter (8:27.72) and 5,000 meter (14:23.47) distances.
While in cross country he was first-team all-MIAA his senior year, and he was also named to the all-Region team. Klingler was second-team All-MIAA his freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons. Klingler was also a part of the 2010 team that qualified and finished 31st in the NCAA Division III cross country championships.
During Klingler’s time at Albion, he was also a member of Sigma Nu, a fraternity on Albion’s campus, and was actively involved in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
