LANSING, Mich. – Mitchell Klingler freed himself from traffic in the second half of the Lansing Invitational Friday to challenge teammate Paul Lewis as Albion College's top runner.
Lewis was the seventh runner to reach the finish line, posting a time of 25:38. Klingler, who was 17 spots behind Lewis at the 2-mile mark, charged to 13th, reaching the finish line in 26:01.
Albion finished the event seventh in the team standings.
Mitch Clinton made a nice comeback from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree, reaching the finish line in 27:16. Eric Davis (27:33) and Brad Baker (27:34) completed Albion's top five.
