Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium, named after Albion College Athletic Hall of Fame inductees Dale R. Sprankle and Walter Sprandel, is the home to the Albion College football team and the Albion College track & field team. Opened in 1976, the stadium features an artifical turf field and the Elkin Isaac Track. The outdoor track was resurfaced in summer 2011 as part of a $1.1 million project that included an artificial turf surface for the football and men's lacrosse teams. Upgraded facilities for field events were included in the project as well. In 1996, the oval was named after Elkin "Ike" Isaac, '48, a member of the Albion College faculty from 1952 to 1975 as well as a former athletic director and coach. Isaac served as head basketball coach from 1953-1959, head track coach from 1953-1962, and head cross country coach from 1962-1969.
