Albion Falls To Local Rival

ALBION, Mich. - Irene Chen and Margaux Kabodian produced the points for Albion, and if a couple of other matches had gone the right way, the Britons would have pocketed a win over local rival Spring Arbor University.

Spring Arbor pulled out three-set victories at No. 3 and 6 singles to walk out of the Ungrodt Tennis Center with a 6-3 victory over the Britons.

Chen and Kabodian produced a point at No. 1 doubles, winning 8-6.

Lauren Rasmussen and Olivia ConoverAlbion's No. 2 doubles team, rallied from a 7-2 deficit, but wound up with an 8-6 loss.

Chen won the third set, 6-1, to take the No. 1 singles match, and Kabodian was a winner in straight sets at No. 2.

Rasmussen pushed Erin Hossack in a long match at No. 3 singles. Hossack won a tie-breaker to decide the first set, while Rasmussen won the second to forge a tie in the match.

Rachel Barry forced a 10-point tiebreaker to decide the No. 6 singles match after she split the first two sets with her opponent.

Albion will begin spring break with a Saturday match against Bluefield College.
