Flynn, Lewis lift WLAX to second win

ALBION – A complete team effort helped the Albion College women's lacrosse team pick up a 12-6 win over Bethel University. Seven players recorded a point, led by a four goal night by junior Kyndall Lewis

The Britons led 4-0 after one quarter and never looked back, limiting the Pilots to just three goals over the first three periods. Logan Hutchinson started the scoring off a pass from Kellie Flynn, before Flynn netted her first of three goals on the night. Fifth year Audrey DeWaters tacked on a goal from Ellen Chown, as Lewis's first goal – assisted by Aaliyah Eudabe — saw the hosts leading 4-0.

In the second quarter, Albion received goals from Eudabe and Lewis to take a 6-1 lead into halftime. Lewis picked up where she left off when the new half began with another goal before one from the Pilots. Before the end of the third, Hutchinson and Lewis each scored once more, leading 9-3 through three.

Albion's final three goals were from DeWaters and a pair from Flynn. Flynn scored three goals and dished out one assist on the night. The duo combined for 11 draw controls, with Flynn totaling six and DeWaters five.

Julia Ames and DeWaters finished with two caused turnovers.

Sophomore Nicole Miller (2-0) made six saves in the win.

Albion begins their spring break stretch next week with an 11 a.m. contest on Sunday at Centre.
