Women's Swimming and Diving

Swim and dive splits with Calvin and Alma

HILLSDALE, Mich. – In a Tri-Meet with Calvin and Alma, the Albion College swim and dive teams each split on the day, defeating Alma and falling to the Knights. The men's team won 138-74 over the Scots, while the women won by a 142-91 margin. 

Starting the day with the 400 yard medley relay, Alexis Glaser, Mattie Smith, Hannah Fathman and Chalondra Jewell helped Albion win in 4:06.49. Following with a third place finish in the 1650 free was freshman Kaitlyn Kreb (20:41.20). In the men's race, Kelvin Crone-Willis was the runner-up, clocking a 17:09.41. Evan Steele (18:42.91) was fifth. 

Smith went on to win the 200 free with a race of 2:03.45. In sixth was Laurel Campbell (2:16.42) and Mikala Muccino followed in seventh (2:19.96). On the men's side, Albon took fourth in Ethan Boersma and sixth in Owen Schaaf.

Fathman and Billy Barr saw the Britons sweep the 50 yard free. Fathman swam a 23.68 and Barr finished in 20.95. Charlotte Nguyen was third in the women's race with a swim of 25.97.

Emily Evers won the 400 yard IM, clocking a 5:01.25. In fourth was Alexis Glaser and Alyssa Glaser placed seventh. In second place in the men's event was Jalen Hung (4:24.49).

In the 1-meter dive, Sarah Weissman's 214.58 helped the junior take third. Megan Shay was fourth, scoring 208.05. Jeremy Romero finished second with a 255.90, as Cam Thompson and Anders Forster were fourth and sixth, respectively. Romero later was second in the 3-meter dive and Thompson took fourth. 

Later in the day, Fathman won the 100 free with a time of 53.45. On the men's side, Barr won in a narrow margin, clocking a 47.34.

Alexis Glaser (2:21.75) was third in the 200 back, while Nguyen took seventh. In the men's race, Evan Steele's 2:10.62 was good for third and Esteban Sanchez-Sink finished sixth. Crone-Willis and Hung went 2-3 in the 500 yard free for the Brits. 

With a 2:27.80, Smith won the 200 yard breaststroke. Sanchez-Sink, Owen Schaaf and Caleb Galvan placed 3-4-5 in the men's event. Rounding out the day, the 200 free relay teams were fourth (women's) and third (men's).

Next Saturday, the Brits host Aquinas for Senior Day. The meet commences at 1 p.m.
