FARMINGTON, HILLS, Mich. -- After finishing second in the MIAA a year ago, the Albion College men's wrestling team was picked third in the inaugural MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll.
The Britons checked in just behind The University of Olivet, which landed in second with six points and two first-place votes. Adrian College claimed the top spot with three first-place votes and five points.
Albion went 3-1 in MIAA duals a year ago, with wins over Alma College, Trine University, and Adrian. The Brits graduated a pair of All-MIAA performers in
CJ Krum and
Owen McDaniel, but return a deep cadre of talent ready to compete at the top of the conference.
Justin Gorman returns for his junior season after posting a 3-1 record at 157 pounds last year. Senior
Cade Odrobina went 2-2 at 133 pounds a year ago, while
Koen Eberhard and
Peyton Brooks earned wins at 141 and 165 pounds, respectively.
Albion's season gets underway in earnest on Saturday, November 8, when the Britons take part in the Trine Invitational. The competition is scheduled for a 9 am start.
