CHARLOTTE, Mich. -- The Albion College men's cross country team put forward a strong effort at the MIAA Championships on Saturday afternoon, as the team finished seventh in the always-competitive conference field.
Hope College claimed the championship with a team score of 22. Trine University and Kalamazoo College rounded out the top three with team scores of 66 and 82, respectively.
Junior
Logan Vining continued his solid fall campaign with a top-50 finish. Vining paced the Britons on the meandering 8K course with a time of 26:54.6, which was good for 43rd in the 140-plus student-athlete field.
Alex Hammond was the next Brit to cross the finish line with a time of 28:22.1.
Israel Aquino was hot on Hammond's heels and checked in three spots behind with a time of 28:30.4.
Sophomore
Karma Evans posted a season-best time of 29:03.2, while juniors
Dalton Weber (29:46.6) and
Connor Clark (29:48.7) ran nearly stride for stride.
Adan Rojas clocked in with a season-best 30:05.3 to round out Albion's scorers.
