GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Albion women's swimming & diving team spent the weekend at the Calvin Quad.Â
Competing at the Venema Aquatic Center, the Britons finished fourth against Calvin, Ohio Northern and Carthage. The Britons had a final score of 309.Â
Leading the way for Albion was Wen Wadsworth-Curcuru who shined once again in both the one and three-meter dives.
The junior, who has already received MIAA Diver of the Week honors twice this season, broke both program records in the events (489.80 and 490.35, respectively). Both were previously set by Albion's current diving coach Emily Magyar who was a two-time All-American.Â
In the pool, the Britons were led by Casey Adcock, who had a second-place finish in the 1650 freestyle (18:16.98) and fifth-place finishes in the 200 breaststroke (2:35.03) and the 100 breaststroke (1:10.51).
Sophomore Charli Nguyen had two top-10 finishes in the 200 backstroke and the 100 backstroke.
In the 200 freestyle relay, the Britons finished in sixth place with a time of 1:43.22.
Leah Gray finished in ninth in the 100 butterfly (1:06.78) to round out the swimmers. In diving, Mia Carone placed third in both the 1-meter (391.70) and 3-meter (403.95) competitions in her first-ever 11-dive competition.
The freshman also earned an NCAA Regional cut in the 1-meter.
Additionally, Alyssa Schafer finished right behind her fellow freshman Carone as she placed fourth in both events (376.00 and 379.35, respectively).
The Britons will next compete on November 7th against Hillsdale and Davenport in Hillsdale.
