ANGOLA, Ind. — The Albion women's lacrosse team dropped to Trine, 16-7, on the road in their MIAA opener.
The Thunder scored the opening seven goals of the game, five of which were on man-up opportunities.
Logan Hutchinson notched the period's final score off an assist from
Abbey Scott with 2:54 left as Trine took a 7-1 lead.
Six goals came for the Thunder in the second, while
Lauren Thomas and
Abbey Scott found twine for the Britons. Trine posted a 13-3 advantage heading into the locker room.
The Thunder had the third period's first two goals, and Hutchinson scored her second later in the stanza as Trine held a 15-4 advantage.
The Britons managed three scores in the fourth, courtesy of
Abbey Scott, Hutchinson and
Hayla-Lyn Gilly.
Hutchinson recorded a hat trick to pace Albion offensively, while
Nicole Miller made 11 saves in net.
