A two-time Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll student.
2016-2017: Completed a Semester at Sea during the fall semester.
2016 MIAA Championships: Reached the championship final in the 200-yard backstroke (finishing sixth, 1:59.98)...Swam in the consolation heat of the 100-yard backstroke (finishing 10th, 55.63)...Finished 10th in the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:43.65).
2015 MIAA Championships: Finished 12th in the 200 backstroke (2:03.11 in the preliminary, 2:04.02 in the consolation heat), 14th in the 1,650 freestyle (18:20.50), and 15th in the 100 backstroke.
Prior to Albion: An all-state performer in the 200 medley, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays and a first team all-Saginaw Valley Conference performer his senior year at Dow High School...He achieved second team all-conference status as a sophomore and junior...An Honor Roll student every semester, he graduated Magna Cum Laude and received awards from the Kiwanis (outstanding student) and Elks (most valuable student).
Personal: A political science and accounting major and business operations minor...His father swam at Albion...Son of Carl and Laurie Smith.
