ALMA, Mich. - The Albion College swim teams enjoyed themselves Saturday, Nov. 6, as they rolled to victories over Alma College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) dual meet.
The Albion men won 131-61 to move to 2-0 in dual meets.
There were several big winners on the day.
Senior William Green won three events. He won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:47.82, the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:54.68, and he was a part of the winning 400 freestyle relay team.
Also contributing for the men were junior A.J. Dancho, who won the 1,000 freestyle with a mark of 10:25.39, and junior John Fodell, who won the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.16 and the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:20.03.
Albion's other first-place finishers were first-year swimmer Michael Frenchi, who took the 50 freestyle with a 23.16 mark, sophomore Mark Weismiller, who won the 100 freestyle in 59.17 in addition to posting two second-place finishes, sophomore Chase Bacon, who won the 200 butterfly with a 2:08.22 time, and junior Darren Mantyla who won the 200 backstroke in 2:17.70.
Senior Joe Zessin placed second in two events for the Britons.
In diving, sophomore Dan Fradeneck won both the 1- and 3-meter events with scores of 216.65 and 219.85, respectively.
