OBERLIN, Ohio – The Albion College cross country teams will take confidence into the Oct. 27 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships after a fine performance in the Inter-Regional Rumble.

The Britons finished behind six nationally ranked squads to take seventh out of 32 teams. Coach Hayden Smith thought Matt Melvin and Paul Lewis had both established times under25 minutes at the 8K distance, but the course turned out to be a bit short. Melvin and Lewis were separated by 4-tenths of a second at the finish with times of 24:57.

Mitchell Klingler wasn't far behind at25:06. Kendall Maddox (26:04) and Brad Baker (26:23) completed the top five.
