BATTLE CREEK – Jake Bloom and Taylor Margolis posted rounds in the 70s as Albion College played its first competitive round of the season in the Lou Collins Invitational at the Bedford Valley Country Club.
Albion's 321 score Friday left it tied with Trine University for 10th out of 15 teams. Indiana Wesleyan University sits atop the leader board at 298.
Alex Archer turned in the best round of the day, but his score of 75 didn't count toward the Britons' total because he was entered as an individual. Matthew Fellows and Brent Koaches, also playing as individuals, returned to the clubhouse with scores of 80.
