The Albion College men's golf team hoped to ride the momentum of a third-place finish at last Saturday's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree, but their efforts were only good enough to tie for fifth-place at Bedford Valley on Wednesday afternoon.
Junior Jacob Bloom, who carded a three-over par 74, led the Britons along with a 79 from senior Taylor Margolis and an 80 from fellow senior Brent Koaches. The Britons finished with a team score of 315 to tie for fifth-place with Alma College.
Calvin College won the event, which was hosted by Olivet College, with a team score of 305 and were led by Ben Kuiper's even-par 71.
The Britons will be back on the links again this Saturday at Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind. for the fourth jamboree of the season. The Trine Thunder will host the event and the MIAA golfers will tee off at 12 p.m. ET.
