NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Matt Melvin set himself up for first team status in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association by finishing eighth in the league jamboree Friday.

Melvin led a pack of three Albion men in the top 15. Melvin posted an eight-place time of 26:10, and he was followed by Mitchell Klingler in 11^th (26:17) and Paul Lewis in 15^th (26:27). Mitch Clinton and John Forsyth rounded out the top five.

The Britons finished fourth in the team standings.
