ANGOLA, Ind. - Albion College shot a season-best 305 in Thursday's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Golf Jamboree at the Zollner Golf Course, but it lost ground on all-important fourth place in the league standings.

Adrian College finished third in the jamboree at 294 to solidify its hold on fourth place with 54 holes to play. The top four teams in the league at the end of the fall season advance to a 54-hole spring tournament to determine the MIAA's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Championship. Albion's total through five jamborees is 1,563, while Adrian stands at 1,542.

Alex Archer turned in Albion's low score Thursday with a round of 74. It was a shot off the season-best score he set at Adrian's Lenawee Country Club.

Taylor DesEnfants turned in a 75 for his best round of the season. Jake Bloom (77) and Brent Koaches (79) completed Albion's team score.

The next jamboree is scheduled for Saturday at Alma's Pine River Country Club.
