DELAWARE, Ohio - Albion College Coach Hayden Smith, '70, said the gap between the third and fourth runners narrowed between the first and second meets of the season as the Britons fielded the second-best Division III men's team in the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational
Ashland University, a Division II institution, had the second and third runners to finish and that boosted the Eagles to the top of the team standings with a total of 30. Oberlin College was second with 99, followed by Albion at 104. Mitchell Klingler was the fifth runner to the finish line, completing the 8K course in 26:01. Paul Lewis and Matt Melvin were the seventh and eighth runners, respectively. Lewis reached the finish in 26:12, and Melvin in 26:18.
John Forsyth and Brad Baker completed Albion's top five. Forsyth was the 42nd runner to finish, crossing the line in 27:53. Baker cross the finish line in 28 minutes.
