OLIVET, Mich. – Julie Okorn and Anna Hargrove combined to set four pool records to lead Albion College to a 137-102 victory over Olivet College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association dual meet.
Okorn, a junior from West Bloomfield, established records in winning all three of her events. She completed the 200-yard freestyle in 1:59.53, the 200 butterfly in 2:13.59, and the 500 freestyle in 5:17.37.
Hargrove's record came in the 200 backstroke, where she touched the wall in 2:14.95. She came within 14-hundreths of a second of the standard in the 100 backstroke, winning the event with a time of 1:01.48.
In the 200 medley relay, Hargrove swam the lead leg as Albion won the event in 1:58.06. Emily Pinter, Mackenzie Chesley, and Lauren Pawelec were the other members of the team.
Haley Defeyter (1,000 freestyle), Pinter (100 and 200 breaststroke), and Lauren Rao (1-and 3-meter diving) were Albion's other individual event winners.
