GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Albion swimming & diving coach Jake Taber was eager to find out how some of the young athletes on the Briton women's roster would compete as the team launched the season Saturday in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Relays.
While Albion's best event finish was third in the 100-yard breaststroke, Taber maintains he is pleased as the team dives into its first dual meet – an Oct. 26 date with Calvin College.
"We wanted to see how a couple of people would respond, and I'm encouraged by the results," Taber said. "Learning how some of these young swimmers would race is a question I wanted to answer."
Alli Wilburn, Lauren Pawelec, Claire Wittkowski, and Kylene Slocum achieved a time of 1:02.94 in the breaststroke.
