KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Anna Hargrove was the first swimmer to complete the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard freestyle to lead Albion College in a 166-127 setback to Kalamazoo College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's swimming & diving dual meet.
Haley DeFeyter and Tess Haadsma scored a one-two finish for Albion in the 1,000-yard freestyle, Kylene Slocum, MacKenzie Chesley, and Nicole Manthei achieved a one-three-four finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, and Amy Bell was the top scorer in 1-meter diving and the runner-up in the 3-meter event.
Julie Okorn scored in a pair of individual events, finishing second in the 500-yard freestyle and third in the 200. Kelsey Shurmur and Claire Van Raaphorst finished second and third, respectively, in the 200-yard butterfly. Claire Wittkowski, Lindy Williams and Manthei achieved a two-three-four finish in the 200-yard breaststroke. Jourden Burke produced four points toward Albion's score by finishing second in the 200-yard backstroke.
Finishing third in their respective events for Albion were Lauren Cook in the 50-yard freestyle and Julia Russell in 1-meter diving.
