KENOSHA, Wis. – Anna Hargorve continued to edit the Albion College swimming records Friday. She achieved a school and meet record in the 200-yard backstroke when she completed the championship race with a winning time of 2:05.27 on the first day of the Carthage College Winter Classic.
Julie Okorn also had a good day, collecting a runner-up finish in the 200 butterfly (2:16.24). Hargrove and Okorn joined Jourden Burke and Laura Steavenson set a second-place time of 8:05.35 in the 800 free relay.
Albion advanced two swimmers to the final in the 100 breaststroke where Claire Wittkowski and Kylene Slocum finished seventh and eighth, respectively.
Lauren Cook was eighth in the 100 freestyle, Burke was ninth in the 200 backstroke, Steavenson was 10th in the 500 freestyle, and MacKenzie Chesley was 10th in the 200 butterfly.
Albion is third in the team standings with 405 points. Carthage (805) and Olivet Nazarene (577) are the top two squads.
