Doubles Tiebreaker Sinks Britons

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The No. 3 doubles match gave Kalamazoo College the advantage as it bounced Albion College from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Tennis Tournament with a 5-3 victory.

Katie Blumberg and Leah Saurman easily won the No. 2 doubles match for Albion. Marissa Messenger and Marissa Cloutier sent the No. 3 contest to a tiebreaker, but Kalamazoo edged the Albion team, 8-6, to take a 2-1 lead in the match.

Heather Vogt won the No. 3 singles match in straight sets (6-2, 6-1) and Margaux Kabodian breezed through the second set of the No. 4 contest after winning a first-set tiebreaker.

Cloutier extended the No. 1 singles match to three sets before losing.
