Manchester, Ind. - The Albion College women's tennis team picked up a 6-1 victory over Manchester University on Saturday, earning wins in both doubles and singles play.

Albion opened the match with a pair of doubles victories. At No. 1 doubles, Abigail Hubbard and Paityn Chant defeated Manchester's Katilyn Schroll and Alivia Paul, 7-6 (7-1). Ada Feasby and Jennah Lattig followed with a dominant 6-0 victory over Sydnee Miller and Rylee Clevenger at No. 2 doubles.

The Britons continued their strong play in singles, winning four of the five completed matches.

At No. 1 singles, Hubbard earned a straight-set victory over Paul, 6-0, 7-6 (7-1). Gabriella Farnese picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win over Schroll at No. 3 singles, while Grace Meade defeated Miller, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 4.

At No. 5 singles, Lattig added another straight-set victory for Albion, defeating Amy Linan, 6-1, 6-0.

Manchester's Chant earned the lone point for the Spartans at No. 2 singles, defeating Albion's Chant, 6-4, 6-1.

Albion ultimately secured the 6-1 team victory over Manchester.

"Both of our teams started their fall season off on a strong note today. As a coach, it's always great to get things rolling on the year and see what your teams are made of, and they didn't disappoint today! Now we keep working to prep for our home opener weekend coming up. Go Brits!" said Head Coach Austin Hunt when asked how his team performed today. 

The Britons return to the court on Saturday September 19th when they host a Doubles Tournament.
