DELAWARE, Ohio – With Mitchell Klingler and Paul Lewis at the front of the field, Albion College tied for third out of 12 teams assembled for the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational.
The Britons actually tied for second among Division III teams. Division II Ashland was first with 47 points, followed by the College of Wooster with a 101 total, and Kenyon and Albion in a tie for third with a 103 score.
Klingler, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Runner of the Week last week, continued his solid start to the season. He was second only to a runner from Ashland, crossing the finish line in 25:35.4 Lewis was third to finish at 25:42.4.
First-year runner Erik Davis was the 27th runner to reach the finish line (27:21.2). Kendall Maddox (27:42.2) and Mitch Clinton (28:22.2) completed Albion's top five.
