OLIVET, Mich. – Albion College placed seven runners in the top 15 as it opened the season by running against squads from Olivet College, Lansing Community College and Concordia University at the Olivet Golf Club.
Jessica Shaw, an all-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association second team performer in 2013, started her 2014 campaign with an impressive first-place run of 19:53.18.
Emily Allison enjoyed an impressive debut at the collegiate level, finishing third with a time of 20:27.28. Victoria Sochor (21:17.28) and Megan Wickens (21:28.56) were the sixth and seventh runners to the finish line, respectively.
Allison Snyder completed Albion's top five, finishing 11th overall in 22:13. Marley Guy (22:39.37) and Leanne Wegley (22:52) were the 14th and 15th runners to the finish line.
Albion's next meet is the Sept. 12 Spartan Invitational in East Lansing.
