Britons Close Gap

ADRIAN, Mich. – Albion College closed the gap to overtaking Kalamazoo College for fifth place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's golf standings to three strokes Saturday.

The Britons finished fifth in the league's jamboree played at the Lenawee Country Club. Albion's 311 team score was six strokes better than Kalamazoo.

Kalamazoo, however, held on to fifth place in the standings for the season with a 626 total through 36 holes. Albion is at 629.

Tyler Covell produced Albion's low score Saturday. He tied for 13th among individuals after a round of 76.

Ryan Bomya and Connor Maddalena tied for 19th after rounds of 78 and Brandon Rincon added a score of 79.

The third MIAA round of the season is scheduled for Thursday at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
