ALMA, Mich. – Tyler Covell fired a 2-over 74 to tie for fourth place on the individual leader board in the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's golf jamboree of the fall. The round was played at the Pine River Country Club.
Albion finished sixth in the team standings with a 318 total. Hope College, which had all of its scorers at 76 or better, sat atop the ladder with a 299 total. Trine University was second at 300, followed by Calvin College and Adrian College at 306, and Kalamazoo College at 309.
Brandon Rincon achieved a score of 78 in his first MIAA Jamboree. Ryan Bomya and Connor Maddalena contributed scores of 80 and 86, respectively.
The league teams will gather at Adrian's Lenawee Country Club Sept. 13 for the second jamboree of the season.
