GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Anna Moore swam on three winning relays and Sarah Kilbride and Abigail Slager joined Moore on two of those teams as Albion College turned in an impressive performance in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Relays.
Albion finished second in the team scoring with 76 points.
Moore and Kilbride joined Kylene Slocum and Molly Blank to edge Hope College in the 200-yard medley relay. The Britons completed the race in 1:52.51 to finish 12-hundreths of a second ahead of the Flying Dutch.
Moore and Slager joined Anna Hargrove and Haley Wallis on the first place team in the 200-yard backstroke. The Britons completed the race in 1:53.78, nearly a second ahead of the second place team from Calvin.
Mary Noble, Slager, Moore and Kilbride formed Albion's first place team in the 200-yard butterfly. The Britons cruised to victory in 1:50.13, a time that was three seconds ahead of the second place team from Calvin.
Hargrove, Kilbride, and Moore also helped Albion to a runner-up finish in the 100-yard butterfly. Joined by Syriah Davis, the team finished in 49.79 seconds.
The team of Kilbride, Slager, Slocum and Noble earned second place in an individual medley relay, and Jourden Burke, Katelyn Killewald, Wallis and Maddie Applegarth finished second in the 100-yard backstroke (54.90 seconds).
Albion will swim at home for the first time this season Oct. 31 when Alma College provides the opposition for a MIAA dual meet. The first event starts at 11 a.m. inside the Dean Aquatic Center.
