ALBION, Mich. – Anna Moore and Kylene Slocum won a pair of swimming events, Anna Hargrove won the 200-yard backstroke and swam leadoff on the two winning relays and Julia Russell was the top scorer in the diving events as Albion College achieved a dominating 197 ½ - 79 ½ victory over Alma College in a women's swimming & diving dual meet.
Moore completed the 200 freestyle in 2:02.76 and the 100 butterfly in 1:01.25. Slocum won the sprint freestyle events, achieving times of 25.80 seconds in the 50 and 56.25 seconds in the 100.
Russell scored 149.63 on the 1-meter board and she was unopposed in setting a score of 164.02 on the 3-meter.
Hargrove cruised to a time of 2:19.81 in the backstroke, touching the wall nearly five seconds ahead of teammate Jourden Burke. She was joined by Sarah Kilbride, Mary Noble and Camila Manrique in the 400 medley relay (4:13.47) and Katie Ferrero, Syriah Dobis and Burke in the 400 freestyle relay (3:52.57).
Other event winners for the Britons included Madison Vaive in the 100 backstroke (1:05.74), Claire Wittkowski in the 500 freestyle (5:50.96), Katelyn Killewald in the 400 individual medley (5:06.38) and Ferrero in the 200 butterfly (2:23.38).
Albion will dive into the pool at Chesterton, Ind., High School Sunday for a non-league meet against Carthage (Wis.) College and the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
