WINNECONNE, Wis. – Jessica Shaw moved up to a 52nd place finish in the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships at the Lake Breeze Golf Club.
The Albion College junior from Allegan was sitting 115th after the first kilometer and she advanced to 69th at the second kilometer. She completed the 6K course in 21:58, her best time of the season.
"Jessica is becoming more and more race savvy," Albion Coach Derick Lawrence said. "She showed composure in a big field."
Shaw's finish is the best ever by an Albion woman in the NCAA Championships and the best for a Briton (male or female) since Nick Mockeridge finished 52nd in 2003.
