ALBION, Mich. – First-year runners Andrew Bill and James Weekley finished third and fourth in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship Saturday to secure their places on the all-conference first team.
Bill, from Berkley, Mich., completed the 8K course in 25:50, 12 seconds off the pace set by Calvin College's Jordan Kramer. Weekley, who prepped at Harrison High School, was nine seconds behind Bill.
Albion was the runner up in the conference, finishing with a total of 53 points. The Britons shaved 19 points off their total in the MIAA Jamboree in September.
Albion's No. 3 runner, Andrew Wittland, a sophomore who prepped at Forest Hills Northern, achieved all-MIAA second team status after finishing 13th in 26:33.
Kurt Swaton (16th, 26:52) and Adam Ditri (17th, 26:56) completed Albion's top five. Kiehl Smith (27:03) and Alex Dermody (27:10) completed Albion's top seven.
Next up for the Britons is a Nov. 12 trip to Holland, Mich., for the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional.
