KENOSHA, Wis. – Alexandra Horman placed her name on the Albion College record board Friday.
Swimming in the Carthage Classic, the first-year student-athlete who prepped at Forest Hills Central completed the 100-yard butterfly with a preliminary swim of 58.19. She settled for second place, setting a time of 58.97 in the final.
Anna Moore, a sophomore from Battle Creek, Mich., met the NCAA Division III Championship "B" qualifying standard with her 100 backstroke split of 57.24 in leading off the 400 medley relay that finished second (with Kylene Slocum and Nicole McCann).
Horman, Moore and Slocum and Camila Manrique swam to first place in the 800 freestyle relay.
Moore, Slocum, Abigail Slager and Horman helped Albion achieve an impressive finish in the 200 individual medley as the group took second through fifth place. Slocum also swam to first place in the 200 breaststroke.
"Alex is at her lifetime best time in the butterfly and her individual medley continues to develop nicely," Albion Head Coach Jake Taber said.
