GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Anna Hargrove and Anna Moore finished second in their respective events Saturday night as Albion College completed a fourth place finish in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Swimming & Diving Championships.
The top four teams were tightly grouped with Calvin College edging Hope, 787 ½ -740. Kalamazoo College was third (717 ½) and Albion finished with 613 points.
Hargrove, a senior from Milan, Mich., was part of two school records Saturday night. She achieved a school record and NCAA Championship B cut of 52.05 in the 100-yard freestyle. She joined Moore, Molly Blank and Kylene Slocum for the record in the 400 free relay (3:32.80) as the Britons finished third.
Moore, a first-year swimmer from Battle Creek, Mich., achieved a school record time of 2:03.95 in finishing second in the 200 backstroke. She gained her place on the all-MIAA team with an individual title in the 100 backstroke Friday night.
Blank, Camila Manrique and Lauren Pawelec joined Hargrove in the freestyle final, finishing sixth, seventh and eighth. Slocum reached the final in the 200 breaststroke, finishing fifth.
Mary Noble and Sarah Kilbride finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 200 butterfly and Katie Ferrero was eighth in the 1,650 freestyle.
