ALMA, Mich. – Led by Jessica Shaw finishing fourth overall, Albion College took third place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Cross Country Jamboree at the Pine River Country Club.
Shaw, a senior from Allegan who was making her season debut, finished 30 seconds behind overall winner Erin Herrmann (Hope). Shaw completed the course in 21:52.4.
Albion's second through fifth runners were separated by 34 seconds at the finish.
Alicia Medrano, a first-year runner from Adrian, Mich., led the Briton pack. She was the 25th runner in, crossing the line in 23:31.
Allison Snyder (23:46.3) and Leaha Sinnaeve(23:50.9) were close behind and Aubrey Hemstreet (24:05.4) completed Albion's scoring.
Morgan Button (24:14.7) and Katie Davis (24:24.7) were in Albion's top seven.
Next up for the Britons is an Oct. 1 meet in Louisville, Ky.
