GRAND RAPIDS – With first-year runners Alicia Medrano and Aubrey Hemstreet leading the way, Albion College finished sixth out of 14 teams in action in a meet hosted by Calvin College.

Albion was the second of four teams from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association in the meet. The host Knights finished first with 32 points. Albion's total of 166 was better than Saint Mary's College (183) and Alma College (195).

Medrano, who prepped at Adrian High School, completed the 5K course in 19:42.9. Allison Snyder (19:43.4) and Aubrey Hemstreet, originally from Portage Central High School, (19.53.8) also posted sub 20 minute performances.

Morgan Button (20:11.3) and Keena Gilbert (20:38.7) completed Albion's top five.

Next up for Albion is the MIAA Jamboree at the Pine River Country Club in Alma. The meet will be contested Sept. 24.
