HOLLAND, Mich. – Allison Snyder and Leaha Sinnaeve finished nine seconds apart to lead Albion College's effort in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Cross Country Jamboree today.
Snyder was the ninth runner to finish, completing the 6K course in 23:15.2. Sinnaeve achieved a personal record, finishing 13th in 23:24.2.
"They started smart and passed runners throughout the race," Albion Coach Derick Lawrence said. "They moved up aggressively."
It was the second time Sinnaeve has finished a race in less than 24 minutes. She finished last year's MIAA Jamboree in 23:50.9.
Albion and Alma College finished with 111 totals, but the Britons were awarded fourth place based on the finish of the seventh runner.
Jordan Revenaugh was the fourth first-year runner to finish. The Britons No. 3 runner was 28th overall, crossing the finish line in 24:38.9.
Two more first-year runners, Rachel Holt and Kasmyn VanMaanen, completed Albion's top five. Holt was 51st in 25:54.2, and VanMaanen was 59th in 26:26.8.
Hannah Adams (26:48.7) and Natalie Purcell (26:51.3) completed Albion's top seven.
Albion has a break from competition until Oct. 6 when it runs in Lansing.
