ALBION, Mich. – Albion College scored in bunches in the butterfly and breaststroke events in a 177-122 loss to 12th-ranked Calvin College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's swimming and diving dual meet inside the Dean Aquatic Center.
Alexandra Horman, Sarah Kilbride and Natalie Seifert were the top three place winners in the 200 fly.
Katy Henning and Amanda Quitos took turns winning the breaststroke events, with Henning reaching the wall first in the 100 and Quitos doing likewise in the 200 (with Henning as the runner-up and Kaitlind Hooper in third). Quitos would later finish third in the 200 individual medley.
Rileigh Eding picked up her first place performance of the meet in the 100 fly, finishing a quarter of a second ahead of Horman. Eding also scored runner-up finished in the sprint freestyle events for the Britons.
Albion also picked up runner-up performances from Katie Ferrero in the 1,000 freestyle and Anna Moore in the backstroke events.
"It was good for the women's team to see Calvin and understand their strength," Albion coach Jake Taber said. "We swam with more confidence. We'll keep getting better if we continue to do that."
Albion will swim in the Dean Aquatic Center for the final time this season next Saturday when it hosts Kalamazoo College for a MIAA dual meet.
