CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – Rileigh Eding finished second in the women's 50-yard freestyle for the best finish by an Albion College swimmer on the first day of the Wabash College Invitational.

Eding, who sprinted to the best time in the morning preliminary (23.98 seconds), was the top Division III performer in the race. Alexa Bloom, representing Saginaw Valley State University, was first in 23.99 seconds, followed by Eding in 24.08. Allison Dasky was 10^th in the event at 25.16.

Also for Albion on Friday:

• Katie Ferrero was sixth in the 500 freestyle (5:16.28)
• Samantha Swingewood was seventh in the 200 individual medley (2:10.72)
